Hottest tip for Domotex 2004
Kaindl is sharpening the senses
- 1. Exhibition stand as the perfect invitation to all the senses -
acrobatics performance with esprit - spectacular pattern
developments
- 2. New: Kaindl Cargo Shuttle - bulk of factory-to-factory traffic
switched to rail
1. Visit us in hall 7, stand D30:
Kaindl Flooring will be appearing at
the next Domotex (17-20 January 2004) in Hanover with top innovations
in laminate flooring as well as a highly unusual exhibition stand.
Fascinating pattern developments, astonishing effects with
synchronised surface textures and innovative designs are being touted
as a hot tip in the run-up to the fair. With its 450 m2 display area,
Kaindl Flooring is skilfully setting the scene for its new products,
effectively supported by a series of artistic acrobatics performance.
Based on the theme 'Sharpening the senses to appreciate beautiful
shapes', and featuring a wide range of different materials, everything
about the stand invites visitors to see, touch, feel and experience.
Apart from 'Touch & Feel', one of trendsetting Kaindl's main
themes for their stand visitors will be 'Relax'; there will be a
special Chill-out Zone where visitors will be able to experience the
effects of the textures in tranquil surroundings. We look forward to
seeing you there.
The main attraction in laminate
flooring will be the new wood, tile and stone patterns. Like the
successful 'Bigfoot' series with its synchronised surface textures,
which creates an extraordinarily lifelike stone and tile effect. The
perfect solution for elegant entrances and the trendy Manor House
style! One of the highlights of Kaindl's wooden floors will be the new
'2:1 country optics' in which unique patterns are created using large
'Bigfoot' panels (1324mm x 331mm). The optical and real v-groove can
be used to further enhance the lifelike Manor House effect.
2. Kaindl Cargo Shuttle - from
road to rail
Kaindl is not only an industry
trendsetter in the development of new products but also in terms of
the environment. This ecologically aware company has invested more
than 30 million in environmental protection in recent years, and
has just switched most of its internal traffic between its
Salzburg/Klessheim and Lungötz factories to rail. For the first
time ever in the province of Salzburg, a private logistics train, the
Kaindl Cargo Shuttle, is being used to replace some 11,000 lorry runs
every year. This reduces the distance Kaindl's lorries travel by more
than 660,000 km every year. The introduction of road pricing on 1
January 2004 is pushing up the cost of haulage on the main road
network. This makes it worthwhile for many companies like M. Kaindl
Holzindustrie to switch from road to rail. The traditional
Salzburg-based company is investing nearly 1 million in
switching its factory-to-factory traffic from the roads to the
railways.
The chipboard and MDF boards produced
in Kaindl's Salzburg/Klessheim factory are finished and turned into
laminate flooring and worktops in their Lungötz factory. All
products that are not sent directly to customers from Lungötz are
taken back to Salzburg/Klessheim for forwarding to the logistics and
distribution centre. This entails shuttling some 1,200 m³ or 960
tonnes of MDF and 500 m³ or 280 tonnes of chipboard backwards and
forwards every day. Kaindl uses 28 specially developed Wingliner
Multiboxes - which are handled in the same way as containers but are
side-loading - for the runs between the Salzburg/Klessheim factory, Hüttau
station and the Lungötz factory. The 30 foot attachments for
combination traffic comply with road and rail regulations. They have
fast-opening, hydraulic swivel side walls and can be manipulated by
fork-lift, container crane or container stacker. By using these
devices, Kaindl has been able to reduce its loading and unloading time
from 30 to 10 minutes.
