KAINDL FLOORING -
Laminated floors can be disposed of after long periods of usage without
any problem either in terms of energy or materials
They are not regarded as special waste.
As commercial timber and derived timber products they are permissible
solid fuels (so-called regulated fuels according to appendix 1.2 of the
4th Federal Regulation on Protection from Immissions) and therefore do
not have to be disposed of in furnaces or even special waste
incineration plants.
By means of various disintegration methods (developed by the
WKI Fraunhofer working
group on timber research) laminated floors can be broken down into their
manufacturing components and over 85 % of their mass can be used
again in the manufacture of chipboard and fibreboard.
