1) Domotex
2000: Report about the
exhibition in Hanover/Germany
Kaindl Flooring
recently achieved a sweeping and
right-across-the-board success with its new
presentations at this year’s Domotex
2000 in Hanover, Europe’s biggest ever
trade exhibition for floor covering materials.
In addition to
being intrigued with the latest Kaindl
innovations in connection with glueless
floor-laying technology the public were
delighted and fascinated by the performance of a
troupe
of Flamenco dancers who commenced to put the
flooring through a test which was every bit as
severe as it was spectacular. Kaindl was able to
report a ‘really extraordinary demand for our
new series BIGFOOT, Clip Connection System, and
Snap by Kaindl.
A spectacular
virtual presentation was yet another first-ever
by Kaindl at this year’s Domotex. In this case
a multi-media cyberclip informed the
enthusiastic visitors to the stand about the
product novelties and the company itself.
Two
future-oriented projects were also introduced.
Namely a laminate flooring system with
integrated sound insulation and the laminate
flooring with electric panel heating for
installation in modern low-energy houses but
also in older buildings undergoing renovation.
Studies in connection with both these projects
are now being conducted at Innsbruck University
‘Institut für Bauphysik’ with Kaindl
sponsorship.
With its
extra-large panels and spectacular patterns the Kaindl
BIGFOOT Collection is currently without
parallel on the market for glueless laminate
flooring. Indeed, the Kaindl designer team
really have succeeded in conveying an authentic
wood character with their Herringbone Beech and
Herringbone Cherry patterns. But also the
optical properties of the more conventional
bar-shaped patterns as well as those of the tile
and antique patterns are shown off to
particularly good effect by virtue of the
jumbo-sized format (1324x331x8mm).
A premiére
were also notched up by the sophisticated Clip
Connection System (CCS). This innovative
glueless floor laying system with the high-grade
steel CCS Clip makes floor laying quite an easy.
Yet another quick and easy way to lay laminate
flooring with expert precision is to use the
patent-protected ‘SNAP by Kaindl’ which
works on the basis of a high-tech
groove-and-tongue interlocking system.
Glueless
laminate floor coverings from Kaindl Flooring
carry a 10-year guarantee and are available
through specialised dealers as well as through
‘Do-it-yourself’ supermarkets for home and
building enthusiasts.
2) Total
attendance for Surfaces 2000 was a record
36,637.
Kaindl's USA
partner Mohawk Industries introduced at Surfaces
2000, 14 new BIGFOOT items, in a new Master
Dealer display. There were 8 displays set up on
a 300 sq meter display area high-lighting the
new American Heritage rustic oak design.
In a separate
area (50 sq meters) a cafe was set up using
Ceramica Stone as the featured floor. The new
BIGFOOT designs included 4 colors in Ceramica
Stone, 3 Colors in Florentine Marble, 2 Colors
in American Heritage Rustic wood, 2 colors in
Kentucky Hardwood, and 3 colors in Kensington
Slate.
Kaindl's new
Snap Technology was introduced on stage in the
center of the Laminate area. In addition two
actors from Mohawk reviewed the complete line
and role played a consumer in the process of
purchasing laminate flooring.
3) From
15th -18th February: Zow 2000 in Bad Salzuflen
Kaindl’s new
Worktop programme for eye-catching furniture and
interior design purposes featuring innovative
edge designs in a diversity of variations will
be on public display for the first time at Zow
2000, soon to be hosted in Bad Salzuflen. Very
much in style at the moment are glossy edges.
These can be shown off to the very best optical
effect when incorporated into such furnishings
as bar counters. This latest Worktop series
exploits the use of high-grade acrylic and ABS
plastics as edging material as well as featuring
3D-edges and solid wood edges in different
colour designs. A further major appeal of this
absolutely novel Worktop offer is to be seen in
the comprehensive accessories programme.
A more
attractive home environment with new trend
decorative effects by Kaindl: The current vogue,
namely the ‘Milk-Glass Look’, is seen to
perfect advantage in furniture fronts in
particular. The ‘heavy metal’ line in
‘cool techno-design’ is another highly
popular favourite.
In the floor
covering sector Kaindl is also offering a wide
selection of wood decorative tiles to match the
Country House Style currently so much in demand.
Those in the cherry-wood designs - either alone
or in combination with glass and/or metal - are
absolute trend-setters. Warm tones, such as
beech, apple, birch, maple and cherry convey a
cosy home atmosphere and authentic wood
character.
All these
attractions and more can be seen at our Stand
B6/Halle 21. This is something you really
shouldn’t miss - and we look forward to the
pleasure of seeing you there!
4) Keyword MDF:
Latest State of the Art!
With
future-oriented modified and improved wood
materials such as MDF M. Kaindl Holzindustrie is
opening up a wide range of possible uses
throughout the building construction industry.
Quite apart
from the fact that the market demand for MDF is
growing at breakneck speed, huge amounts of this
innovative material are processed into
Kaindl’s own end products. In view of these
developments Kaindl decided to build an own MDF
production works next-door to company
headquarters in Salzburg/Klesheim at an
investment cost of around 87 million Euro - of
which some 9 million or around 10 % was spent on
the implementation of the latest environmental
protection measures.
This new MDF
production plant came on stream at the end of
1999 and has been working at full capacity ever
since. Accordingly, Kaindl is confident that it
will be in a position to meet the needs of its
customers in an optimal manner for many years to
come and at the same time retain the highest
possible degree of flexibility.
MDF panels are
used as the carrier material for laminate
flooring but can also be processed e.g.
furniture fronts, furniture back walls, and
skirting boards. By virtue of their smooth
surface the are particularly suitable for use in
combination with veneers, decorative films, and
lacquer finishes - but also, of course, they are
equally suitable for shaping into various
designs.
