08-06-1999: Innovative laminate floor coverings on show in Asia at "Chinafloor 99"where they are entertainingly subjected to severe test by a troupe of erotic dancing girls.
Kaindl laminate floor coverings conquer China.
Kaindl Flooring GmbH, a subsidiary of M. Kaindl Holzindustrie, provided for a sensation at China's biggest laminate floor covering exhibition, "Chinafloor '99" which was hosted recently in Shanghai. A troupe of well-known dancing girls from a popular Chinese theatrical company demonstrated the durability of Kaindl laminate floor covering with a performance in high-heeled dancing shoes. Visitors to the trade fair were highly impressed by the novel method of this quality test – and also by the innovative Kaindl products. Amongst other things they saw that a new format for laminate floor coverings producing a perfectly square appearance enabled not only faster bedding but also reduced the joints by 30%.
"In view of the special circumstances such as a shortage of wood and heavy dust pollution in the north of the country and a high relative humidity in the south, we see China as a very attractive and fast growing market for our products. The Chinese are much less concerned with furniture in their homes than they are with having a clean, attractive floor because the floor plays a much more role in their daily lives. For this reason China, along with Europe and the USA, is one of the most important markets from our point of view," Kaindl managing director, Werner Bechtold explained. Kaindl Flooring GmbH is the outright world market leader in laminate floor coverings with a market share of 23%. The export quota is presently 85% – of which 10% is delivered to China. "It is quite possible that laminate floor coverings could soon account for up to 30% of all floor covering materials sold in China" Bechtold concluded on an optimisticnote.
