Kaindl Pressrelease 1999

Kaindl with metallic finishes and laminate floor coveringsin Country Look very much in fashion.

Kaindl presented the wood processing industry at this year's BWS in Salzburg under the motto "Full speed ahead into the next millennium". The exhibition stand designed to create the impression of a ship attracted the public like a magnet, and all those who "came aboard" were able to inform themselves on the latest highlights and trends. In particular the Kaindl team reported a lively demand for the "heavy metal line". In the words of Kaindl managing director, Werner Bechtold: "With this cool 'techno-style' we are right in line with the current trend". This innovative metallic product range is available in different designs and edging applications.

The big hits in the furniture and interior decorating sector included fantasy decorative designs and a wide selection of stone-effect finishes. Commenting enthusiastically on the positive response shown by visitors to the fair, Kurt Breiner added "Our new postforming laminates also went down particularly well with the public. The very latest here are forming plates with a radius of only 3 - 6 mm which can be used as table tops, working tops in the kitchen, furniture fronts, and elsewhere throughout the furniture construction and interior decorating sectors. "As far as laminate floor coverings are concerned, cosy wood grain tones in beech, cherry, and maple through to fashionable old wood effects reminiscent of the homely country-look continue to dominate. The Kaindl exhibit "Pictures of Nature" was another particularly eye-catching attraction at this year's BWS: Unusual veneers as used in for individual joinery applications were displayed in the form of pyramids with special light effects.

The Kaindl stand at this year's BWS also featured the many possible uses of the trend-setting modified and improved wood materials, MDF and OSB. In order to ensure that customers will continue to enjoy optimal service in the MDF sector in the years to come, Kaindl is presently building an own MDF production works in Salzburg/Wals which is expected to come on stream in November 1999.
