09-03-1999:Kaindl aims to become the 3rd biggest namein laminated panel flooring in the USA.8000 sales displays planned for the year 1999.Innovative laminate flooring panels for square appearance. 

Kaindl boosts marketing effort in America. 

Kaindl Flooring GmbH, a subsidiary of M. Kaindl Holzindustrie with headquarters in Salzburg, Austria, recently achieved a remarkable success at America's biggest trade fair in the floor coverings market, namely "Surface '99", which was held in Las Vegas. The stand taken at the fair by the American partner company "Mohawk" dedicated 350 of its total 3500 square metres display space to Kaindl laminated flooring and was the scene of a veritable run on the products of the Austrian company. In response to the high demand more than 8000 sales displays valued at 850 US dollars each are to be assembled at customer shops of the American partner company. In the words of Werner Bechtold, managing director of Kaindl Flooring GmbH, "Our aim is to become the 3rd biggest name in the US market within the next twelve months". Laminate floor coverings are becoming increasingly popular in America, too. Indeed, Bechtold estimates that 100 square metres of laminate floor covering will be laid in the year 2000 alone compared with only 3.6 million square metres in the year 1995. 

On the occasion of the above mentioned trade fair in the USA Kaindl presented an entirely novel format for laminate flooring panels designed to produce a perfectly square appearance. The ideal panel dimensions of 1324×331 mm enable faster bedding times and reduced joints by 50%. With this innovative format the disadvantages associated with actual squares (greater work effort required at the manufacturing and bedding stages, unstable bedding) are eliminated. The decorative designs on these laminate floor coverings destined for the US market reflect the current preferences in America: the stone and tiled flooring look, oak ornamented, and imitations of old wood. 

Kaindl Flooring GmbH, a subsidiary of M. Kaindl Holzindustrie, is the outright world market leader in laminate floor coverings with a market share of 23%, and since 1989 remains the only supplier able to offer every kind of laminate floor covering. With Mohawk in the United States Kaindl can rely on the support of a remarkably strong partner; the former is a company based in Georgia/USA and commands a 25% share of the floor carpeting market. Mohawk's annual sales turnover is in the region of 3 billion USdollars.
