Kaindl Pressrelease 2000

April 2000: BWS 2000 in Salzburg:international selection of veneered panels presented by KaindlTop actual: New working tops for furniture-makers and interior designers;also glue-free laying systems for laminate flooring

Kaindl highlights veneered panels at this year's BWS

At the 'BWS' - the international trade fair for the wood-processing branch held recently in Salzburg - Kaindl Holzindustrie presented a comprehensive overview of its extensive product range. The new veneer programme 'Veneered by Kaindl' turned out to be an absolute highlight of this year's show. But the trendy working and decorative tops - and, of course, "SNAP by Kaindl", the laminate flooring system that can be installed so quickly and without the use of glue, also greatly impressed visitors seeking new technologies and designs.

With the program "Veneered by Kaindl", the Salzburg-based company exhibited an international selection of real-wood-veneered chipboard, medium-density fibreboard, and plywood board all ready for problem-free processing into furniture fronts or elements. In the words of Kurt Breinbauer, Kaindl sales Manager for Austria and Eastern Europe, "The trend in veneered panels for furniture making and interior design applications is still clearly in favour of light woods such as unsteamed beech, beech, maple, and birch. However, there is also a reviving demand for darker wood shades such as cherry or walnut." With regard to the surface finishings of the veneered panels and their application outlets in the furniture and interior design construction industries, the motto nowadays is "Everything is possible." The wide variety of possibilities here (lacquering, brushing, staining, lime-washing, waxing, polishing) means that all tastes can be catered for. Furthermore, the extended production programme meanwhile includes - in addition to larch, birch. walnut, and many other classics - a number of exotic newcomers for extravagant cultivated living (for example , Ma-core, Koto, Anegre, Beam-Tree, etc.).

This year's BWS public was also enchanted with the rich variety of design of the edgings, the fantasticality of the decors, and the versatility in application shown in the context of the "Working Tops by Kaindl" programme. Indeed, these working tops are not only for the kitchen but also for table tops, bar tops, workbenches, furniture fronts, and furniture construction in general. Specialities amongst the edgings include high-gloss edges - which can be used to particularly good effect on bar tops - high-grade plastic edges (acrylic and ABS plastics), 3D edges and massive wood edges available in a diversity of colours.

With the innovative floor-laying systems "SNAP by Kaindl" and "BIGFOOT", the company also presented an impressive overview of laminate flooring systems that can be laid faster than ever before and without the use ofglue.
