All the raw materials required for the production of laminate floorings are also produced by the company itself.

Kaindl's own state-of-the-art MDF production plant was put on line in early 2000. One-half of this plant's annual production of medium density fibre board is used in the manufacture of Kaindl laminate floorings.

M. Kaindl Holzindustrie is one of the pioneers in the development of new technologies and innovative processes. Just one example of this is to be seen in continuous production technology which-in spite of being energy-saving and environmentally friendly-enables the economic industrial production of panels.

2) New: "Kaindl Colour Combinations 2001" A huge selection of decorative finishes

* Laminated Panels now available in Door-sized Format as well
* Total of 105 Decorative Designs for Panels, Edgings and Windowsills
* Topical: Grey Tones and Real Metallic Line
* New: 32 mm ABS Edgings

At this year's BWS in Salzburg M. Kaindl Holzindustrie exhibits the new "Colour Combinations 2001" for refined and improved wood materials. In the meantime the Kaindl Collection has been greatly expanded, and now includes a total of 105 decorative finishes. The "Colour Combinations 2001" collection is intended for use in conjunction with the product groups Decorative Panel, Laminated Panel, Melamine Edging, ABS Edging, Work Top, and Windowsill. From now on the very latest decorative finishes are also available in door-sized format (2150 x 990 mm) and as 32 mm ABS edgings. The new collection is particularly effective on work tops, which in turn can be complemented by matching accessories such as the wall-joining system in a matching finish.

The Colour Combination Collection is absolutely in keeping with the latest trend in grey tones such as Silver-Grey, Titanium, Techno and Platinum. Real Aluminium and Real High-Grade Steel Laminated Panels from the Kaindl Metallic Line set finish accents that are smooth and cool. The very latest design highlights are the Icepearl effects in White, Mint and Grey, and also the extravagant decorative creations "Ming" and "Window" in the same tones. Colour signals are set by bright yellow, red, blue and green.

In the wood finishes department lighter shades such as birch, maple, beech and pear continue to dominate the market. At the same time, however, dark tones such as wenge, walnut, oak, and red alder are increasingly popular.

3) Versatile in application: Work Top System Products from Kaindl

* Trendy: High-gloss Panels and 3D Edgings
* Sophisticated Accessory Line

With no less than 78 different decorative designs, the Work Top Line from M. Kaindl Holzindustrie, to be exhibited at this year's BWS in Salzburg, is extremely versatile in terms of application. It is not only suitable for tables, bars and workbenches, but also for furniture faces and, indeed, throughout the furniture-making industry and the interior design sector. The wide selection of highly fashionable and classical decorative finishes perfectly complements the innovative edging design in diverse variations. High-gloss panels-which can be used with optimum effect in bar constructions, for example-are very much in the vogue. Furthermore, the new work top design exploits the use of high-grade plastic edgings in acrylics and ABS, as well as 3D edgings and solid wood edgings in various colours. As far as the decorative finishes themselves are concerned, the accent is on various Corian-like stone effects, as well as on fantasy and inlay designs.

Another major feature of this very latest work top offer is the extensive accessory line that leaves nothing to be desired. For example, customers can choose from a seemingly endless selection of accessories such as fan grilles, connecting profiles, corner elements, and niche linings, as well as various matching wall-joining profiles, edgings, etc.

4) Medium Density Fibre Boards (MDF) from Kaindl affording numerous further processing alternatives

* MDF Special Blank Panels with Deep-drawn Quality
* New: Several Decorative Finish Highlights for Furniture Fronts

The trend-setting wood material MDF (medium density fibre board) is meanwhile finding countless market outlets throughout the construction and remodelling sector. MDF is also ideal as a carrier material for laminate floorings, and in the furniture-making industry medium density fibre boards are now being processed into furniture faces, back walls, panels and strips in a whole host of different designs.

At this year's BWS in Salzburg Kaindl has made use of different lacquering techniques to demonstrate how versatile and effective a wood material MDF is after undergoing further processing. By virtue of their homogeneous structure, MDF panels from Kaindl are ideally suitable for milling and lacquering-as well as for being covered with veneers or decorative films. Kaindl also has production facilities for special MDF blank panels with deep-drawing quality in 18 and 19 mm thickness (Format 2800 x 2070 mm) for use in the furniture industry as a high-grade substrate for film-covered furniture faces. Also at this year's BWS Kaindl will be exhibiting a series of modern decorative finishes for furniture faces-including Maple and Oak as highlights from amongst the wood shades-and also examples from the fantasy and stone-effects range of the shade palette.

With its own MDF production plant on-site, M. Kaindl Holzindustrie is able to guarantee optimum flexibility in compliance with the customer's wishes. This high-tech production plant was built at an investment cost in the region of Euro 87 million. As much as half of this plant's total annual MDF production goes into the manufacture of Kaindl's own laminate flooring.

5) "Veneered by Kaindl" - enhances every style

* International Selection of Veneer Highlights
* Extravagant Wood Types in Fashion

Kaindl is exhibiting its latest line, "Veneered by Kaindl," at this year's BWS in Salzburg, and visitors will be able to see an international selection from a broad range of veneers available for furniture construction and interior design purposes, presented on generously sized display areas. Impressive inlay work in a variety of finishes (lacquered, brushed, stained, whitewashed and waxed) demonstrate the endless design and application scope offered by these veneers. "Veneered by Kaindl" lends itself to immediate further processing without any difficulty in any quality (body or face).

The absolute fashion highlights include conservative/timeless birch, representing the widely popular Scandinavian lifestyle, extravagant whitebeam, as a favourite of avant-garde furniture designers, and European cherry wood, which conveys a cosy and lasting value effect with its unusual radiation. Darker kinds of wood are also in demand. American walnut, for example, is meanwhile setting new accents. The "Veneered by Kaindl" stock selection also includes classic favourites such as beech, oak, ash, American cherry, maple, European maple, alder, spruce and pine. Additionally, the extended line will offer wood species such as larch, birch (barked or pared), teak, anegre, mahogany, macore, koto and unsteamed beech.

Veneered with real wood, the chipboard, MDF and joiner boards from Kaindl satisfy the most stringent demands of the furniture industry, trade and specialised dealers throughout the world. Decades of international experience in the purchasing of veneers, the professional know-how of Kaindl employees, and the state-of-the-art finishing processes used are the customers' guarantee for the quality of veneered panels by Kaindl, which have stood the test of time since the 1960s.

6) Novelty at the Fair: Innovative Real Wood Floors "Snap by Kaindl wood"

* From May onwards: Real Wood Floors incorporating Snap automatic interlocking
* Installation is so simple and takes less time
* In the trendy decorative finishes Beech, Maple and Oak

The trade public visiting this year's BWS in Salzburg will have the opportunity to see an absolute novelty: a real wood floor fitted with the patented Snap technology. The first of its kind on the market, this type of floor will be released for general sale under the name of "Snap by Kaindl wood" in May of this year. For the first time ever it will be possible to install real wood floors quickly, simply and without fear of mistakes thanks to the use of Kaindl's own Snap automatic interlocking technique.

"Snap by Kaindl wood" is the ideal real wood floor for most rooms in the house-living room, bedroom, dining room and children's rooms. Quite apart from being hygienic and so easy to keep clean and spotless, it introduces an atmosphere of cosiness wherever it is installed. In addition to being so sensationally easy to install due to the fact that the self-orienting system of the patented Snap technology functions on the basis of a high-tech groove-and-tongue profile, and rules out any possibility of making mistakes, this new real wood floor from Kaindl is also extremely hard-wearing and robust. This is attributed among other things to "Aquastop 6"-the carrier panel with extremely low swelling values-specially developed for use in conjunction with the Snap automatic interlocking technology. In view of its low installation height requirement, real wood floors featuring "Snap by Kaindl wood" are also best suitable for the remodelling sector.

Trend Barometer for Real Wood: At present cherry wood is particularly enjoying a surge in popularity in the interior design sector, on a scale unprecedented since the days of Biedermeier. The finely pored wood of the cherry tree imparts a noble beauty and reflects good taste. Beech and maple rate amongst the already established classic favourites of European interior designers and their clientele. During the course of the last year or two, there has been a growing enthusiasm for oak. indeed, thanks to the development of new finishing techniques, oak, which was formerly associated with dark and heavy effects, can now be made to appear in shades that are less heavy and paler, and with the increasingly popular antique effects.

7) Fashion Collection in Jumbo-sized Format: "Bigfoot"

* World-wide only from Kaindl: Herringbone Decorative Designs for Laminate Floorings
* Quick and Simple Installation
* Up to 30% fewer joints

A special highlight at this year's BWS in Salzburg will be the "Bigfoot" fashion collection, featuring an extended range of decorative finishes, exhibited by Kaindl Flooring, an internationally recognised, leading and established supplier of laminate flooring. This latest development combines the advantages of the patented floor installation technology "Snap by Kaindl" with an unusually large format (1324 x 331 x 8 mm) and exclusive decorative finishes.

"Bigfoot" is unique world-wide being the only laminate flooring collection also available in the "Herringbone Look". Already a big hit in ever-popular beech and cherry finishes, the "Bigfoot" fashion collection was only recently expanded to include Herringbone Maple and Herringbone Oak. The latter finishes convey an authentic wood character in any home or commercial showroom. An effect identical to a parquet flooring pattern is achieved through the offset installation of the panels. By virtue of the jumbo-sized panel format, equally impressive optical effects are achieved with the four and three-strip decorative finishes (available in beech, cherry, maple, and oak), as well as with the tile and antique designs.

Fitted with the "Snap by Kaindl" automatic interlocking system as a standard feature, the "Bigfoot" collection facilitates clean and precise installation. Indeed, with jumbo-sized panels installation is much faster, and involves up to 30% fewer joints. The self-orienting system functions on the basis of a high-tech groove-and-tongue profile, and rules out the possibility of installation errors. The specially developed carrier panel-namely "Aquastop 6," possessing extremely low swelling values-makes "Bigfoot" unusually hard-wearing and robust. The Kaindl Triple Guarantee is effective for 10 years.
