Kaindl laminated floors can
be installed over practically every kind of base. As the drying periods
depend on the climate, the given drying times are to be regarded as a
guideline. In any case two weeks should be added on. Absolute safety can
only be achieved by ensuring that the appropriate measures are taken. As
a matter of principle the old floor surface must be removed.
The following bases are not suitable:
- old fitted carpets, carpet tiles (unhygienic,
in some cases too soft, lack of vapour prevention)
- stonewood composition floors
(residual dampness too high)

** Wooden
constructions must be sufficiently ventilated (4 sqcm ventilation area
per each sqm of flooring). Principially bases consisting of wood (chipboard,
hardboard and floorboard etc.) must not be covered with airtight
materials as beneath the covering the microorganismen find ideal
conditions to exist thereafter ruining the floor. Due to this sufficient
ventilation must be granted. In sections of installations on the wall
wooden strip must be adjusted to allow ventilation and passes through
floor construction including the floor have to be installed. It must be
granted that existing hollow/space underneath the construction will be
constantly dry, to guarantee the balance of moisture of the wooden
construction idependent of the seasons, and thereby PE-film as vapor
absorption will not be needed. The laying of the panels has to be
crosswise, meaning in a 90 degree angle.
