Flooring: Laying instruction
Floor heating
Please follow the
installation instructions precisely
- The lime
layers must be laid in accordance
with DIN regulations
- As a matter
of principle all the mineral lower layers
must be heated before the installation of
laminated flooring, so that no damaging
dampness can seep through any more. This
heating process applies to all seasons,
winter and summer alike
- Cement limes
can be heated after a resting period of
three weeks, anhydrite limes already after
one week
- Increase the
preheating termperature in stages of 5
degree C daily until the maximum heating
level has been reached
- Then leave
your floor heating turned on to the
maximum heating level for at least 72 hours
without a reduction in overnight temperature
The period of heating depends on the kind
and thickness of the base. In the case of
cement line you should calculate at least
one day per cm. of lime base thickness. In
the case of anhydrite you should calculate 2
days per cm of base thickness.
For safety reasons, after a heating interval
of about 5 - 7 days, the heating should be
switched on again.
Your laminated floor should now be installed
within 10 days, otherwise there is a danger
that the lime layer would again absorb
dampness.
- If
a heating engineer carries out the heating
up and cooling down process, he must keep a
strict record and present this as a matter
of course. If this record is missing, doubts
will arise
- Before
the floor is laid, dampness must be
measured at the places indicated by the
building constructors or the heating
engineers using CM-equipment
The tolerated level of dampness may be:
for cement lime a maximum of 1.4 CM-%
for anhydrite lime a maximum of 0.2 CM-%
- Very
important: to test the dryness of the
lime layer, spread out several pieces of P.E.
foil (ca. 50 x 50 cm) and stick down the
edges. After a further 24 hours during which
the floor heating is in operation, if
there is no condensation under the foil, and
the covered surface of the lime layer
remains the same colour, then the lime base
is ready to support the flooring and the
laying process can begin
- The
heating should be turned off for 1-2
days before laying the floor. The
composition floors surface temperature must
be within at least 15 degree celsius and 20
degree celsius at the most. Please note
before laying: a polyethylene sheet with a
minimum thickness of 0,2 mm must be spread
over the complete surface. The edges must be
taped together, overlap at least 20 cm, and
should be pulled approx. 5 cm up to the
walls
- Following
the polyethylene sheet, you then lay the
step-sound-absorbing layer of your choice
- Now
you can begin laying your Kaindl
Laminated Floor. Please follow the laying
instructions exactly
- After
a setting time of at least 24 hours, the
floor heating can gradually be adjusted to
the desired heating temperatur.
Attention: this procedure
should be repeated at the beginning of each
heating period. And please follow one more
basic rule: The surface temperature of your
laminated floor shouldn`t exceed 26 degree
celsius, during the heating period the ideal
room climate should have a temperature of
20-22 degree celsius with humidity levels at
50-60 percent if this room climate can`t be
held constantly, it should be expected that
gap will form. The forming of gap or
deformation are not faults, but due to
natural factors of wood and wooden materials.
This should be taken into consideration
especially in case of changes in climate
