Flooring: Basic rules
Changes in the dimensions |
|
Wood is a hygroscopic
material and therefore it can absorb and give off water. Your laminated
floor thus has a positive influence on the climate of a room. Wood
adapts to the surrounding humidity levels but this can result in slight
changes in its dimensions (this may vary up to 2 mm per 1 m lenght ).
Keep this physical property of wood in mind when laying down your new
floors. The following levels of tolerance should be observed :
- Straightness
of the panel lengthwise: 0.25 mm / panel
- Height
precision: 0.15 mm
- Flatness
of the panel widthwise: 0.25 mm
